Ideal spot for a quick stay
I gotta say, the friendliness of the staff was something else. It reminded me of the time I walked into that diner and everyone was just so warm. Plus, the location was dead-on, just few blocks from all the action I wanted.

Do recommend for a trip
Clean room, helpful staff, the flat-screen TV was a nice touch to unwind after a day exploring the area, and the free Wi-Fi made it easy to plan our next adventure.
All good.

The motel’s location is ideal for exploring nearby spots like Sylvan Lake and Needles Eye. Our family enjoyed biking through the scenic trails, and it was a hit with the kids. The friendly staff made our stay extra special.
In my wife’s opinion, the pool could use some upgrades for a better family experience.

We explored Sylvan Lake and Needles Eye, both are must-see spots if you’re looking for great outdoor activities. The motel offers bike hire too, which is perfect for a fun day! Overall, we enjoyed comfortable accommodations and a good breakfast to start our days right.
One downside was the bathtub situation. It had a mat that couldn’t be removed and looked moldy, which was pretty off-putting.

Great parking and friendly staff. Rooms are a bit small.

Surprising cleanliness in chaos
The first thing that caught my eye was the remarkably clean room. It stood in stark contrast to the disarray outside, a small oasis within the mess.
Sadly, the exterior was a different story. Dust and debris were everywhere, and the pool looked untouched all summer, creating a daunting first impression.

Convenient location but needs improvement
The location of the inn was convenient for exploring the surrounding areas, and the staff was friendly and attentive. However, the cleanliness of the room left much to be desired, with issues like a lingering musty smell and inadequate bathroom supplies.

The Dakota Cowboy Inn provided a decent stay with a friendly staff and clean rooms, although the place shows signs of aging. The breakfast selection was basic, and the dining area felt cramped, but the location was convenient for exploring nearby attractions.

It was just a decent option for a holiday in Custer with fantastic value for money. The warm double queen beds were a nice surprise after a long day of sightseeing. Make sure to turn on the air conditioner if the room gets too warm.

The room was a big letdown. You could smell mold as soon as you stepped in. There was toothpaste spittle on the mirrors and faucets, which was super gross. The beds felt like bricks, and the whole place just seemed outdated. Plus, there were no washcloths, and the WiFi was almost non-existent. On the bright side, the staff was friendly, but I was really disappointed with the cleanliness and comfort of the room.

We had a pleasant stay with clean rooms and good breakfast options like waffles and fruit, though the bathtub was rather dated and could use some updates. I would definitely consider staying here again!
